Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Salience. They’re short because the product is in closed beta and we’d rather be clear than comprehensive.
The deal
Salience gives your team a shared wall where the cards are the work itself. You get the product; we get your honest feedback and your patience with a beta. No payment is involved during the closed beta, and we won’t start charging without telling you clearly and in advance.
Your account
You need an invite and an Apple, Google, or Microsoft account to sign in. Keep your account to yourself; you’re responsible for what’s done with it. You must be old enough to hold the sign-in account you use.
Your content
Everything your team puts into Salience belongs to your team. You give us just enough licence to store it, back it up, and show it to the teammates you’ve shared it with — that’s the entire use we make of it. When your account or workspace is deleted, that licence ends.
One thing to know, stated here as well as in the privacy page because it matters: workspace owners can export all workspace content, including private channels and DMs. A workspace is the team’s record, and its owner administers all of it.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Salience to break the law, to harass people, to store or share content you have no right to, or to probe, overload, or interfere with the service itself. We can suspend accounts that do; we’ll tell you why.
Beta honesty
Salience is a closed beta. It will sometimes be slow, occasionally be down, and now and then lose its footing. We work hard to prevent data loss and we keep backups, but you should not make Salience the only home of anything you cannot afford to lose. The service is provided as-is during the beta, without warranties, and our liability to you is limited to the fullest extent the law allows. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
Ending things
You can stop using Salience and delete your account at any time — email hello@salience.so or use the in-app option where available. We can end or suspend beta access at our discretion (it’s a beta), and if we ever wind the service down we’ll give you notice and a way to take your data with you first.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, beta users hear about it by email before it takes effect.
